PUPPY GOOD START

The key to having a well-mannered adult dog is starting his obedience at an early age.  Socializing your puppy to the world around her and teaching her some basic commands should be your top priority.   This class provides you and your puppy with the knowledge and information that you will need to obtain those goals.  Macy01.jpg
This course includes proper body handling and nail trimming, puppy massage, discussions on biting and chewing, how to teach your puppy not to jump, housetraining/crate training, how to properly socialize  your puppy and basic commands including sit, down, drop-it, leave-it, come when called and getting used to being on a leash. Most importantly, your puppy will be introduced to the world around him in a positive manner through supervised socializing sessions. This class will help your puppy flourish into a confident mature dog, eliminating many of the common behavior problems we see in so many adult dogs. youngbailey.jpg
This course also includes an open discussion on puppy/dog health and nutrition.  Knowing what shots, grooming and nutrition your puppy needs (or shouldn't have) is important information that all responsible owners should know and keep up with. During class your puppy will also learn to keep his attention on you, the owner, despite all of the distractions going on around him. Establishing good behaviors before bad behaviors can be learned is the key to a well-behaved, well-mannered adult dog.

Are you waiting to start classes until your puppy is older and has had all his shots?  Don't make that mistake!  Know the facts.  To help you, we have provided the following link to an open letter from noted Veterinary Behaviorist R. K. Anderson DVM.  Please read the following information, then share and discuss this open letter with your veterinarian and make an informed decision for the well being of your new puppy.
